Welcome to Unshakeable

Battle and Blueprint Series | Unshakeable| Volume 2

There is a difference between a life that nothing can touch and a life that can be touched by everything and still stand. Most of us have been taught to pursue the first one. To build walls high enough. To pray consistently enough. To stay faithful enough. To do enough of the right things that the hard things stop finding us. And when the hard things find us anyway, we quietly wonder what we did wrong. What gap in the wall let them in. What failure in our faithfulness opened the door.

But that is not what Scripture promises. And it is not what the lives of the people in Scripture demonstrate. Daniel was thrown into a den of lions. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into a furnace. Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned and betrayed by people he had poured his life into. Job lost everything in a single day. None of them were protected from what came at them. All of them came through it standing.

That is the difference. It is not about being untouched but about being unshakeable. An untouched life is a life where nothing bad happens. Scripture does not promise that, and most of us have already discovered it is not the life we are living. An unshakeable life is a life where things happen, hard things, unexpected things, things that were not in the plan and the person at the centre of them does not collapse. They don’t lose who they are, abandon what they believe, or walk away from what God said just because the circumstances contradict. That is what this series is about.

Formed in the Gap, Vol. 1 series, sat with the interior of the waiting season. What God does in you when nothing is moving. What it costs to hold a word from God in one hand and an unchanged reality in the other. That series was about the quiet, the hidden, the slow work of a God who forms people in the silence. This series sits somewhere different. It is not about the silence, but the storm. The moments when everything moves at once and not in the direction you wanted. When the thing you built starts to shake. When the relationships are strained and the circumstances collapse and the ground you were standing on turns out to have been less solid than you thought. When the battle isn’t a private endurance but an immediate, public pressure testing your life in real time. Unshakeable is for the person in that storm right now. It is not for the person waiting for something to happen but for the person in the middle of something happening. The person who is being shaken and needs to know not just that God is faithful in the abstract but that there is a way to stand when everything around them is moving.

Here is what I have come to believe after years of watching people navigate the hardest seasons of their lives. The people who come through the shaking standing are not the people who were never touched by it. They are the people who built something before the shaking came that held when it came, in the deep inside, in the foundation. Something that was not visible from the outside but turned out to be the thing everything else was standing on. That something is not a formula. It is not a set of spiritual disciplines performed correctly enough to guarantee stability. It is not the reward for sufficient faithfulness or the result of doing everything right. It is a person. Built by God. Held by God. Sustained by God through every shaking that life brings. And it is available to anyone who is willing to build from the inside out rather than from the outside in.

Every week this series will sit with one person from Scripture who was shaken and came through it standing. This won’t be the highlight-reel version of their story, or the tidy, triumphant retrospective. The actual texture of what it felt like to be shaken and to find, in the middle of the shaking, that something held. What held for them. Why it held. And what that means for you in the middle of whatever is shaking right now.

Every story contains two things: a battle everyone can see, and a blueprint most people miss. The battle is the crisis itself. The blueprint is the hidden structure that made standing possible long before the crisis arrived. This series is about both.

Because every life will be shaken.

The question is not whether the storm comes.

The question is what your life is standing on when it does.

This is not a series about surviving.

It is a series about standing.
